Preparation for the 2018 Pastors' Conference in Danli, Honduras began at the close of the 2017 conference. The vision of supplying every pastor with an E-reader tablet was cast and prayer and planning began in earnest.
During the 2017 Faith Promise Missions Conference, just over $25,000 was pledged toward the conference and purchase of the tablets. An attendance of over 200 pastors was estimated, therefore at least 200 tablets were required to meet the need.
Our goal was to find tablets that would allow pastors access to large amounts of reference materials for Bible study as well as the ability to prepare sermons and lessons.
In addition to E-reader tablets, once again, whole Bibles, New Testaments and full-color tracts were to be provided to the pastors for their ministries and outreach programs.
22 participants signed up for the trip to Honduras. We praise the Lord for the Spanish ministry of Faith Baptist Church and the willingness of Spanish speakers to join the team. Their participation allows for greater outreach opportunities in the schools and communities in and around Danli.
The team was also excited for the opportunity to join in the celebrating of the first-year anniversary of the church they helped to start in Paradise, Honduras during the 2017 Pastors' Conference.
Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:”
Sunday morning, they broke into three groups. One group, including Bro. Jason Tate, Bro. and Mrs. Tilton, and Dakota and MaKayla, went to the new church in Paradise which the team helped to start one year ago. A second group, including Bro. Luke, Bro. Ben, Mrs. Lilia, Betsabe, and Natalia, traveled to a work in Los Robles.
The rest of the team remained in Danli where Pastor Smith preached the morning service.
After the service, Bro. Tate took the team out to see the progress that has been made on the camp. Four years ago, Pastor Smith had visited the property and discussed with them possible options for building. What a blessing to now see the vision realized, and the vision they have moving forward from this point for the camp. The men’s dorm, where some of the pastors are staying, has been built and ground has been broken on the women’s dormitory. The buildings and restrooms are commercial quality and the space has been well utilized. Bro. Mike and Pastor Smith were able to give them some additional ideas on building.
The Tates served the team lunch in their home, where everyone enjoyed fellowship together. Between lunch and the evening service the team had time to return to the hotel to rest and to prepare for the next day.
The second group included Bro. Luke Gendro, Bro. Ben Benoit, Mrs. Lilia, Betsabe, Natalia, and Mrs. Keller traveled to a work in Los Robles. Bro. Gendro preached and Natalia and Betsabe played instruments for the services.

Twenty to thirty pastors showed up early on Sunday night to avoid any delays that may be caused by the transportation strike. Pastor Smith preached the evening service with a great response. The team again visited in the Tate’s home after the evening service.
At the time of this update, it appears that the outreach team will be able to go into the schools on Monday. Please check back for further updates.
