Missionary Update 04/15/2019
As we all know, different seasons present different ministry opportunities. It’s exciting when the Lord brings these opportunities our way. It’s always good to have a plan, but we realize that our plans will need to be adjusted to the Lord’s plan. And although this month has been very busy for us; we are thankful for the Lord’s leading as we serve Him. We began the month by traveling to the village of Huay San for a family conference. It was great to have some of the other hill tribe churches in the area join together for the conference. Teaching Bible principles regarding the family is a burden of mine. We had topics on leading, following, and building our families based on the Word of God. Many families here in Thailand, and all over the world, are broken and in desperate need of the Lord’s healing. Please continue to pray for our continued ministry with families here in Thailand. The following week, we headed to Bangkok for a youth conference. A lot of our ministry has been with young people and I am always excited for the opportunity to challenge them with God’s Word. The theme of the conference was found in Numbers 14:24: Caleb had faith in God’s promises, faith to follow God’s Word and was not afraid to tell others what he believed was true. I believe many of the teens made good decisions. We also thank the Lord for three girls from the children’s home who accepted Christ and followed in baptism. We are so thankful to continue to see fruit in the lives of these young people. Summer break began last month here in Thailand. We had three teens from the children’s home graduate from the home school program as the school year ended. We ask for your continued pray as they make decisions for their future. This time of year, we generally, have many changes in this ministry when many of the kids go back to live with family members, and many new kids come to live at the children’s home. This gives us opportunities to have influence in the lives of new kids and their families as well. We spent some time in the village of Huay Mae Sai. The church there was started by Rick Horn about twenty years ago. Now this church is pastored by one of our Bible students. We mentioned this church about a year ago and for prayer as they were in need of a new church building. Over the years, they outgrew the building and needed to expand. We have attached a video update regarding this ministry as well. This week we celebrated our daughter Selah’s 4th birthday. She enjoyed being able to have some of her friends come and celebrate with her. Thank you again for all who sent her birthday cards and gifts. We also took some of the kids from the children’s home to a trampoline park. These kids were not able to go home during the school break because they don’t really have family. We wanted to do something special for them. Later this month we are heading to Udon Thani to help Pastor Gowit have an English and Bible Camp. Please keep this outreach opportunity in prayer. Also, please pray for our Easter Sunday service. We are praying and inviting people to come and hear about the Resurrection of Jesus. We will also be praying for your ministries as well. We know this is a great opportunity for new people to be reached with the Gospel. Thank you again for your continued support and prayer for our family. We are privileged to be your missionaries.
