SO MUCH TO SHARE ! March / April 2021
Our days have been FULLY CONSUMED with the construction project over the past 2 ½ months. I (Mike) have lost 19 pounds as a
result – man that’s better than NutriSystem! As always, God has been good to us and there is so much to share. Last month we sent

The bathroom block and the framework and floor of the main structure seating 225 persons is all finished. We are meeting under
the structure but having to use pop-up shade shelters until the thatched roof can be done. Great progress always meets with
opposition and we’ve had our share of it. First it was a Hindu man who was intent on buying out the property from under us but Mr.
Simon refused to sell. Recently, we’ve been dealing with an implacable neighbor lady and a resulting spaghetti bowl full of
application processes for permits and land use changes that the local government is imposing on us. We were never supposed to be
subject to these requirements but the complaint of one person has brought it about and now we have no choice but to comply. “But
God” is a common phrase we find in the Scriptures and it reminds us of God’s intervention when we are in need. And so, The LORD
has directed us to some key people in government to advise and help us through this tedious and laborious process.
How to pray? Pray for the Lord to change the heart of Mrs. M to recognize the value of having the church in the community and
please pray for an expeditious approval to our application for change of land use permits.
Since our last letter TWO MEN HAVE RECEIVED CHRIST! Buti, Pastor Monte’s neighbor and Albertus both responded in a Sunday
morning invitation and were saved. Buti, who was a heavy drinker is now drunk on the joy of the Holy Spirit of God! Monte said he’s
a new man! Shame’, Albertus sister, also shared her testimony of receiving Christ as a teenager but, after hearing a recent
admonition on recognizing real love and living purely for Christ, made some life changing decisions to be more right with God. On
Easter Sunday, we had a powerful day with many lost people in attendance. A Greek man, George, was all smiles after the service
and said he had never experienced church like that in the Orthodox faith. Not knowing what to expect he even brought his own
incense in case he needed it. The Simon family, who are Catholics, were all there as well. I preached on, “The Resurrection Changed
Everything” and it was incredible to see how hungry all these folks were as they heard good ole fashioned Bible preaching for the
first time in their lives. Albertus parents, for whom many of you are praying, called that Monday to say they were at a bookstore to
buy an English Bible so they could follow along in the messages. I wish I had the words and the space to detail the many stories of
how God is working and changing people’s lives. I sense that we are on the verge of another great harvest of souls. It’s no wonder
that Satan is working overtime all around the world. His days are numbered Hallelujah! To be honest, we do get weary in the battle
but as we see God’s great grace manifested in people’s lives and experience that grace personally through your prayers and faithful
support we are quickly encouraged and strengthened to press on!
THE SUZUKI – WOW! – We presented the need to buy the Suzuki utility truck and your response was overwhelming! Within two
weeks we had the funds needed to buy the truck and man oh man is it ever getting used! It has become the work horse of the fleet.
Thank you to each church, family, and individual who gave. Cindy has named it “Suzi” but the guys are refusing. You can guess who
will win that one.
EMILY – Ah, they grow up too fast! Our Emily is now a 25-year-old young woman and a force for God here in Botswana. When her
permits expired, she can no longer apply as our dependent and began to pray about returning to the US to move on to the next
chapter of her life. Obviously, I’m a biased Dad but anyone who knows her knows that Emily would prosper greatly in the US.
Imagine our joy, (tho we were not much surprised) when she decided to stay in Botswana and serve the Lord here. To be honest, I
don’t know how we’d do it without her. Naturally, she wants to experience some independence so for now she’s going to move out
of the house…all the way out to the outside guest room which we’re converting into a small apartment and she recently bought a
car. I give Emily $200 a month out of our personal support and she does some contract work on the side but to remain in Botswana
she will need to raise some support. I don’t think you’ll get a greater return on your investment than you will if Emily is your
missionary. She’s indispensable to the ministry here and I hope you’ll be blessed by her presentation video. The YouTube link is:
https://youtu.be/8Qj58KiAtN4 Her plans are to remain in Botswana for two more years as she waits on the Lord’s leading for her
future. Would you consider supporting Emily’s ministry as we continue together reaching the lost here in Botswana? We have set a
prayer goal of $750 a month.
As always, we love and appreciate you and look forward to rejoicing with you in Heaven in the presence of our Lord. Even so, Come
Lord Jesus! Mike, Cindy & Emily Haley
