Greetings from Brazil. A new year has begun with its many challenges. We took advantage of school being out to hold extra meetings with our couples. Every Tuesday evening we met at one of the couples homes or our home at 9:00 PM for dinner a time of fellowship but most importantly time in God’s word and how it can and should guide us in our lives as married couples. It has been a tremendous blessing filled with blessings and spiritual growth unfortunately with February on top of us these Tuesday evenings will come to a close. Classes are beginning again at the universities and thus we will be returning to our Sunday afternoon every other week timeslot. Please continue to pray for Gabriel Janaina Eduardo and Raianne.
An update on irmão Antero; he was hospitalized for a good portion of January due to covid and pneumonia but he is now back resting at home. Irmã Bernadete continues to care for him but has developed some heart problems. We ask that you remember both of them in prayer. Also irmã Ednair is continuing to improve and has been able to attend church for some of the services. Still no news yet on her retirement benefits application. Please continue to pray for a quick approval.
January also proved to be a bit taxing in as much as I needed to take care of the services at the church in Jd. Varginha along with the regular services in Vargem Grande. Pr. Vicente needed to take some time for some much needed rest. He is now back in the pulpit.
January also saw us doing some back breaking work at the house in order to get final approval to be able to finish construction of the missions apartment. Due to new regulations we needed to remove 77.75 meters of concrete from our lot to provide a permeable area for drainage for rain. So with a rented jack hammer and a few weeks of determination we finished the work with a great sense of satisfaction and bodies full of aching muscles. All that is left is for the final approval of documents so we can finish what needs to be done.
Once again as always thank you for your faithfulness in supporting us both prayerfully and financially. You truly do make a difference in the ministry to which God has called us here in Brazil. May GOD continue to bless you the people and the ministry of Faith Baptist Church.

Greetings from Brazil. November kept us busy with taking people for medical appointments and examinations as such we have several individuals in need of prayer for healing. First is irmão Antero. I was privileged to win irmão Antero to the Lord many years ago and through the years he has been faithful in attending church. Due to his age and other factors his health has declined and most recently has become bed ridden. As a result of another recent decline he now requires care 24/7 at home with his wife irmã Bernadete taking care of him. With the extra care required irmã Bernadete is now unable to attend church services since he can no longer be left alone. This has been very hard on irmã Bernadete as she has not only been faithful to all services and ladies' activities at the church but also served as the church’s assistant treasurer. As such we have been holding frequent services in the home so that they are not without hearing the preaching of the Word of God. Please pray for irmão Antero that God would intervene and heal him but most important that God’s Will would be done in their lives.
Also please pray for irmã Bernadete not just because of the health problems of irmão Antero but because the situation has caused some health problems for her too. Both of her legs have become swollen and her toes infected. Atalias and I took her to see two different doctors this week both a considerable distance from where she lives. Normally she would have tried to take a bus but because of her condition it is very difficult for her to enter and exit a bus. As of yet the doctors have not determined what is causing the problems with her legs. Please pray for her as this is greatly affecting her mobility and ability to care for irmão Antero.
Finally we would ask that you pray for irmã Ednair. For several years now she has been suffering from depression and anxiety and has been unable to work. Her first doctors prescribed the wrong medication which made her worse. Atalias has been taking her to her medical appointments and helped her in changing doctors and as such her medication. Her health has greatly improved and is doing much better and has more strength and energy on the new medication but is still not back to 100%. Being unable to work she has been facing financial difficulties. Her son helps with what he can but it is insufficient. Atalias and I have been helping so she doesn’t go hungry or miss any critical financial payments. Since she is now physically unable to work one of her doctors has given her a document to assist in the paperwork necessary for her to obtain a medical disability to be able to receive assistance from the Brasilian Social Security since she would not normally be able to receive retirement benefits for another three years. As of yet we have been unsuccessful in obtaining these benefits for her since we were given the wrong location to go to make the application. Please pray that we will be able to obtain the correct department submit her application and that the application would be approved so that she can begin to receive much needed benefits.
Once again as always thank you for your faithfulness in supporting us both prayerfully and financially. You truly do make a difference in the ministry to which God has called us here in Brazil. May GOD continue to bless you the people and the ministry of Faith Baptist Church.
