News from Debbie Lane and the Harvest Fields of
HONDURAS
July - September
Dear Co-workers in Christ,
A lot is packed into those four verses above. It was a necessary admonition in Paul’s
day - and it is necessary for us today! For those of us who are familiar with God’s Word, it
seems that the rapture of God’s children is close at hand! What a wonderful expectation if
you are a Christian, but a devastating one if you are lost. It doesn’t matter if we are a
missionary on a foreign field or living in the USA, if we are one of God’s children then we
must “be about our Father’s business”! Time is short to reach the lost with God’s truth!
The work in Honduras continues. However, they are struggling with new government
rules, requirements and regulations just as we are here. Thankfully, things are somewhat
more “relaxed” up in the mountains among the Lenca Indians because the government and
police do not have a constant presence there.
In August, our first church among the Lenca, the Calvary Baptist Church of Ojo de
Agua, had their anniversary service. Pastor Cecilio Gomez baptized 10 believers on that
Sunday! (See the pictures!) The work that God so graciously began among the Indians when
we were there continues to reach out to others! You have no idea what a thrill and miracle of
God’s grace this is! I have not had a lot more info from the other pastors and works other
than occasional text messages. It seems that phone signals have not been very good the
last few months in their area.
On another note, (due to a paperwork hold up) my son, Brandon, and his family had
to delay their plans to get to the mission field in July. But their support level is now at 100%
and my son and grandson now have tickets and will arrive in Honduras on the 30th of this
month! They will work on finishing the family’s temporary housing at the conference center in
Danli and, when it is completed, the rest of his family will join them. Then they will start on
my living quarters. When completed… I AM GOING HOME!!
Dear faithful pastors, prayer warriors and supporters, NONE of this would be possible
without YOU! Words can never truly express the gratitude and love that I feel for you all!
YOU have made (and are making) an eternal difference in so many lives! And I know that it’s
because of your faithful prayers on my behalf that God has made a way for me to continue to
work among my beloved people in Honduras! Someday, you will meet them face to face in
our Fathers house. Get ready for lots of hugs!!
In the meantime, I will continue to work diligently in the mission field around me! No
matter where we live, people need to know the Lord! I would LOVE to be the one who leads
that last person to Christ… the one that our Father has been waiting on… the one that
causes Him to say, “Well, that’s the last one. Go sound the trumpet and bring my children
Home!”
Dear comrades and fellow Christian soldiers, may we diligently keep working for Him
until we hear that trumpet sound!
For the King until His soon return,
Debbie Lane
“Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; Withal praying also for us,
that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which
I am also in bonds: That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak. Walk in wisdom
toward them that are without, redeeming the time.” ~ Colossians 4:2-5
