Missionary Update 11/12/2019
Hello friends, Many have been asking for an update regarding the situation here in Chile. Over the last few weeks, things had gotten a little better. However, this past weekend, things started flaring up again. There is a nationwide strike going on today with several large marches planned to include one that will pass about a block from our home. The President and congress have been giving into some of the demands of these groups. (socialist/communist groups). Even though the communists lost power in 1973, there has always been an active communist party here and little by little they have been working to get back into power. The government is suspecting that those groups and other leftist organizations are behind everything trying to destabilize the country. However, as I mentioned, the government is giving into some of the demands including possibly writing a new constitution. This is the most concerning part because in the current constitution, we are granted religious liberty within Chile. A new constitution could put that in jeopardy. However, we know God is in control and everything is going according to His plan, which we are seeing unfold before our eyes. Last Sunday, we had a full auditorium, and we are looking at possibly starting two new churches in 2020. Pray for us as we consider navigate the situation here. Please pray for our safety and for God's provision. Pray also that God would give us wisdom to make good decisions as we continue to reach Chile for Christ. Serving in Chile Clifton Booth and family
